Covidity: Five Years Later
Covidity: Five Years Later is a visual exploration of collective memory and the lingering traces of a global pandemic that reshaped our lives. Five years on from the very first UK lockdown, these images document the fragments of public health messaging that remain embedded in our shared spaces—faded floor stickers, weathered signage, and the quiet imprints of a moment that defined a generation. These overlooked remnants serve as a metaphor for how society has moved forward while still bearing the marks of an unprecedented collective experience. The stickers, often scuffed, broken, or almost erased, reflect the passage of time and the way our memories fade but never fully disappear. This project captures these echoes of lockdown life as they appear today, inviting reflection on themes of resilience, adaptation, and the impermanence of human experience. Each image is part of a visual archive, connecting us to a moment in history we are still trying to fully understand. About the Artist: As a photographer, I am drawn to the everyday objects and overlooked details that speak to larger societal narratives. This project stems from my interest in documenting history as it is embedded in public spaces—mundane yet powerful visual traces of a shared experience. With this series, I hope to contribute to our ongoing reflection on the pandemic and its lasting impact.
